Sure enough, the women's brains responded very differently depending on which sweat they sniffed. (And no, none of them passed out.) The sexual sweat, but not the normal sweat, activated the right orbitofrontal cortex and the right fusiform cortex, brain areas that help us recognize emotions and perceive things, respectively. Both regions are in the right hemisphere, which is generally involved in smell, social response, and emotion.
The role of olfaction in relationships can be understood by studying individuals without a sense of smell (anosmics). Isolated congenital anosmia (ICA) is characterized by an absence of olfactory percept due to an aplastic or hypoplasic olfactory bulb [34]. In comparison to individuals with normal olfactory ability, male anosmics reported a significantly reduced number of sexual partners, which may be due to their reported enhanced social insecurity as well as their increased prevalence of reported depression [28,35]. Moreover, female anosmics report greater relationship insecurity than non-anosmic females [28]. Poorer olfactory ability may be linked to a heightened risk of relationship breakdown as relationship insecurity is a predictor of relationship breakdown [35]. Studies with individuals who have an impaired sense of smell (hyposmics) also offer valuable insight into the role of olfaction in romantic relationships [36]. Hyposmic individuals report a reduced sexual desire; however, this may be linked to the elevated depression that they also report [37]. Interestingly, individuals with superior olfactory ability have been found to rate sexual experience as more pleasant than those with impaired olfactory ability [25]. Therefore, smell may play a key role in maintaining intimate relationships by providing feelings of closeness and security.
Women smell male intentions
Eye contact, body language and flirting are some of the signs, which can tell you if a man or woman wants you. But a study suggests that women can smell the sexual intention of a man. Men may not be aware but when men are aroused their sweat has a distinct smell.Pheromone is a chemical that is secreted from the body and suggests sexual intention. In the study, women were subjected to male sweat on a regular basis and sweat when a man is aroused. Investigators used fMRI or functional magnetic resonance imaging to read the reactions of women as they went through the various samples of sweat. Women responded differently to each sweat sample. The sweat sample that was acquired from sexual arousal ignited the right orbitofrontal cortex and the right fusiform cortex. These parts of the brain are responsible for recognising emotion. This study proves that humans can communicate at a subconscious level based on chemical signals. On the same lines, a study suggested that men prefer or are attracted to women based on their sweat between the first day of menstruation and ovulation.Another study also suggests that we pick our partners based on the strength of their immune system. Keysers and his colleagues are investigating just those issues. In one recent study, he and neuroscientist Bruno Wicker, PhD, used fMRI to look at the emotion of disgust. In research published in Neuron in 2003 (Vol. 40, No. 3, pages 655-664), they imaged the brains of 14 male participants as the participants inhaled noxious odors--such as butyric acid, which smells like rotten butter--and as they viewed a film of an actor wrinkling up his face into a disgusted look. The researchers found that both feeling disgusted and watching someone else look disgusted activated a particular segment of an olfactory area of the participants' brains called the anterior insula.
Prompted by rumours that the mushroom's scent is a powerful female aphrodisiac, the pair conducted a 'smell test' on 16 female and 10 male volunteers. Six of the women reportedly experienced a mild (nope, not "earth-shattering"), spontaneous orgasm when they sniffed the mushroom, while the remaining 10 were found to have an increased heart rate when given a smaller dose.
"Indeed, nearly half of the female test subjects experienced spontaneous orgasms while smelling this mushroom. These results suggest that the hormone-like compounds present in the volatile portion of the spore mass may have some similarity to human neurotransmitters released during sexual encounters."
A possible explanation could be that unidentified mushroom was actually the species Phallus indusiatus, or something very similar. Found in the tropical regions of southern Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Australia, this phallus-shaped stinkhorn mushroom is said to be a female aphrodisiac in Hawaiian and South Pacific lore, referred to as Mamalo o Wahine, which translates to "women's mushroom", and has a recorded history of use in Chinese medicine dating back to the 7th century AD.
Meanwhile, some scents can make us appear more attractive to potential partners. Take the aroma of grapefruit. In a study that involved guessing the age of women shown in photos, participants knocked off 12 years from actual ages if they smelled, and enjoyed the smell of, grapefruit. If the participants smelled spicy and floral notes, the women appeared four pounds slimmer.
Sexual arousal and scents often go hand in hand. How the body of the partner smells can create arousal in women. And natural scents might attract women. Whether it is cinnamon cologne or perfume, some women love the smell.
King James in his dissertation titled Dæmonologie refutes the possibility for angelic entities to reproduce and instead offered a suggestion that a devil would carry out two methods of impregnating women - the first, to steal the sperm out of a dead man and deliver it into a woman. If a demon could extract the semen quickly, the substance could not be instantly transported to a female host, causing it to go cold. This explains his view that succubi and incubi were the same demonic entity, only to be described differently based on the tormented sexes being conversed with. The second method was the idea that a dead body could be possessed by a devil, causing it to rise and have sexual relations with others. However, no mention has been found of a female corpse being possessed to elicit sex from men.[14]
Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive. For women with male partners, this is after one year of unprotected sex when under age 35 and after six months for women 35 and older. For women in same-sex partnerships, infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after 12 months of donor inseminations when under age 35 and after six months of inseminations for women 35 and older. From 12% to 15% of couples have trouble getting pregnant.
I had the same feeling reading about the alleged rape of a delegate at the World Social Forum two days ago. I am no jingoistic town crier for the aggrieved male bastion, far from it. But to me, the chronology of the event has the smell of rat sprayed all over it.
Bears often communicate with each other by marking trees with their scent. This is usually done by standing on two legs and rubbing the back, shoulders and especially the back of the head on a tree, telephone pole or other object. They may bite and claw the trees, too. Scent reveals individual identity, reproductive status and probably mood. Marking is most frequent by adult males before and during the mating season (from late May to early July), but some marking is done by all bears in all seasons of activity. Any bear that passes a marked tree is almost certain to stop and smell it and perhaps add its own scent.
To conclude, since the female wet dream may or may not be accompanied by a discharge, contrary to that of men, I posed a few questions to the shuyukh based on the discussion I had with other women and I received following answers from Sh. Yasir Qadhi:

As Salamualaykoom wa rahamtullah,Jazakullahkhairan katheera for this very informative and much needed article. I have a question regarding what a female should do if, while she is awake, she thinks desirous thoughts and thus this leads to discharge from the vaginal area. This discharge is usually clear, and comes with warm sensation in the vagina area. Sometimes this discharge comes in small amounts and other times it comes in larger amounts and it is clear in color and is sticky. If a women experiences such a discharge should she simply clean up her vaginal area with water and make fresh wudu or is she required to make ghusl? Also, please note sometimes these desrious thoughts which come in the mind are nothing but whispers from the shaytan, they sometimes even come during Salah or before Salah, and one tries their best to fight it, but yet still ends up having some sort of discharge coming from the vagina.Jazakullahkharian was Salamualaykoom 2ff7e9595c
